EA’s newest title, A Way Out, launches tomorrow and while we didn’t receive a copy for review (Thanks in part to a site re-launch), we have assembled all of the review scores below for your viewing pleasure.
An interesting fact about A Way Out is that it allows for a streamlined co-operative experience with only one game purchase, even online. That’s right, if you purchase the game, you can invite a friend to join you, free of charge, making it an extremely accessible co-operative experience.
Reception of A Way Out appears to be mixed, with several gaming outlets weighing in anywhere between 60-95% scores. At the time of this writing Metacritic scores the game at an 80 which may change as more reviews are published.
Hardcore Gamer – 3.5/5 – “Hazelight Studios deserves praise for the high ambitions of their first title, with A Way Out attempting to emulate a wide variety of genres, themes and gameplay mechanics. While there are some key sequences that end up working out for the better as a result this jack-of-all-trades style approach, the overall game suffers from inconsistent gameplay and an uninspired story and presentation.”

A Way Out is full of heart and soul: you’ll grow to love the characters, and you’ll become invested in Leo’s charm and curious about Vincent’s problems, but it’s light and it could leave you unsatisfied.”
