Revealed at this year’s Gamescom, Agony is a survival horror game, based around being a lost soul trapped in the dark reaches of Hell. With your memories gone and your body melted away, you will need to possess the bodies of people and lesser demons in order to get to the ‘Red Goddess’. Believe it or not, this is not the first time we’ve seen this project in recent years.
Sacred Agony started out as a Kickstarter project in 2015, but due to a lack of funding (only 3,327 euros out of the 544,400 needed), the game seemed to die before it ever really began. That was until Gamescom 2016 when it was announced to make a return from the studio MadMind. Though this is their first game, MadMind has developers who have worked on such AAA titles such as Witcher 3 and The Division.
Agony should be available to purchase in 2017 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
