The successor to Hideo Kojima’s P.T., Allison Road, has resumed its development.
The news comes from the game’s creator, Christian Kesler, who confirmed that he is now developing the game under his new studio Far From Home. The new studio was co-founded with the help of his wife, who operates as a business partner.
“I’m actually really happy to be able to announce that [Allison Road] will continue,” Kesler tells IGN. “We had a lot of support online and some folks out there are just incredibly nice.”
The initial reveal of Allison Road came from a 15-minute gameplay trailer posted by Lilith, the name of the previous studio. According to Kesler, he developed most of the game’s assets including, but not limited to, the modeling, texturing, lighting & shaders. For the re-launch, Kesler isn’t looking for extra help, unless it is necessary.
“For our gameplay trailer, I did all the modeling, texturing, shaders, lighting, etc., and thankfully a lot of the mechanics are already implemented from the previous development phase, so I can comfortably take the game forward by myself,” Kesler says. “If and when it comes to a point where new features and mechanics are required, or old ones need changing, I’ll go look for support.”
The game was canceled back in June, with no specific reasons on why the game’s development was halted. It is important to note that the studio had a Kickstarter campaign for the game before it ended up shutting down due to the game receiving publishing from Team 17. It is unclear if Allison Road will remain it’s publishing deals with Team 17.
Allison Road doesn’t currently have a release window. Stay tuned to InformedPixel for more information about it’s release.
