Couch co-op is a fun way to play video games. With the rise of online gaming that feeling of triumph you get while watching your sibling grow more and more enraged as they continue to lose to you has become partially lost. Sure, you can still hear their insistence that you cheat through the headphones, but its much more fun to be able to just reach over and fiddle with their controller at the most inopportune moment. Or is it just me?
There’s a new 4-player co-op game, Armed and Gelatinous, that will attempt to bring this friendly war of attrition back to those who miss it (don’t worry, it has online multiplayer as well). Developed by Three Flip Studios, Armed and Gelatinous will release with new multiplayer modes– Dodgeball and Food Fight. There is also a Target Practice campaign set to debut at PAX East 2020.
The player will choose a ‘blob’ that can absorb a multitude of weapons, but more weapons also grants more mass. While more mass can mean more power, it also means less agility. You can customize matches to compete in, while the soundtrack plays a selection of jazz and retro music.
Is your blob hurting? Eat scrumptious space tacos to replenish health. When your done with the new modes, you can attempt to climb the leaderboards with the best single-player times, or blast away at each other for the most points.
Armed and Gelatinous will be playable in both arcade cabinet and console forms at PAX East 2020.
It’s set to release in Q3 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. Does it look like something you’d play? Let us know over on the Informed Pixel Facebook page or on the Informed Pixel Twitter account. Likewise, you can keep up with more gaming news at Informed Pixel.
