Ubisoft have released the launch trailer for their latest fray into the Assassins Creed universe, Assassins Creed Valhalla, as well as details on additional content we can expect in the future and much more!
Make sure your axes are sharpened and blades are ready, as it’s time to jump into the notorious Viking era. We follow the adventures of Eivor, who with the help of his clan will leave the icy desolation of Northern Norway and head to the rich but fractured lands of England.
Gameplay
With unique ways to fight opponents, Assassins Creed Valhalla makes the Viking experience even more realistic with the all new revamped dual wielding combat system. Dual wield axes, swords or even shields to bring out the true Viking in you, or bring out your the inner assassin and use the well known hidden blade.
Assassins Creed Valhalla also introduces players to all new gameplay features including raids, settlement- building and the ability to customise hair, tattoos and much more! Finally, players will even be given the chance to decide their own destiny. The choices the player makes directly influences the world around them so you must choose wisely if you are to protect Eivor’s clan’s home and future.
Post-Launch Details
So, what can we expect post-launch? Good news! Players will be able to embark on more adventures with the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Season Pass. The season pass will be included in the Gold, Ultimate and Collector’s Editions, or can be purchased separately for $49.99. The season pass includes an exclusive quest and two expansions, so is worth the price.
In addition, all players will be treated with an extensive line-up of FREE seasonal content! These will include: New narrative content and in-game events. Each season will last 3-months and will be accessible to all players.
Season 1 will launch in December 2020 and will include a new settlement area, the traditional Viking ‘Yule Festival’, A new game mode called ‘River Raids’, new player skills, abilities, weapons and gear, along with much more.
What about, Next-Gen?
Xbox Series X|S players will experience faster loading speeds, as well as an even more powerful experience in 4k resolution at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X. PlayStation 5 players will also be able to relish in the next-generation goodness themselves with the incredible audio, along with detailed 4K at 60 frames per second visuals and faster loading speeds.
Assassins Creed Valhalla also supports full cross-platform progression across all platforms and services with Ubisoft Connect! Assassins Creed Valhalla is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia and Microsoft Windows.
