Releasing back in November 2020, Assassins Creed Valhalla told the story of Eivor and the Raven Clan from their start in Norway and across England as they made alliances and uncovered the secrets of the past as well as stopped shadowy adversaries of their time. Since its release, we have had the DLC for Ireland, and France, the huge expansion Dawn of Ragnarok as well as the crossover stories with Assassins Creed Odyssey, and lastly, the free updates over the two years added that built upon the world of which there are too many to list.
Over the two years, the game has grown larger and larger with more to do, find and defeat as you created the Eivor that you wanted with the numerous skills and weapons at your disposal. It has been a wonderful time to be an Assassins Creed fan, with over 250 hours put into this game and still not completing it. It still feels fresh, but now is the time for the content to stop coming for it and look to the horizon to the next game in the series.
The Last Chapter
Coming next month, there will be a final update that will give us the definitive ending to Eivors story and how he ended up where we found him at the start of the game. There isn’t much known about the storyline involved apart from the fact that it aims to tie up loose ends from various storylines from across Eivors travels and to offer closure to the adventures with Raven Clan.
To gain access to The Last Chapter, there are a few things you must have completed before this point. You have to of completed the main storyline by pledging to all the territories of England and coming back from Norway once again. You must have upgraded the settlement to level five and constructed the Jomsviking barracks. You must have killed all the targets of the Order of Ancients and unveiled the identity of the mysterious leader. Lastly, the completion of the mystical stories of both Asgard and Jotumheim. However, you do not need to have completed any of the DLC or the expansion.
Assassins Creed: Valhalla Production Updates
No New Game +
One of the most requested features that Ubisoft looked into implementing in the game was New Game+; however, the team behind the game has announced that after several attempts at making it a viable option for the game, it will not be added. They said that due to the way the game was created and how it was so different from previous games in the series, they couldn’t find a way to make replayability unique and rewarding, and for that reason, they couldn’t bring New Game+ to the Valhalla like it has been asked for so much.
Seasonal Festivals
During the year, several festivals coincided with different times of the year. Going forwards, they will not be reappearing as the year goes through. Those who have not got all of the rewards from each of the festivals will be able to spend silver to acquire them. They will also introduce new rewards with the final update as a thank you for your continued support.
Hood Up Option
Lastly, another community-requested addition was the ability to keep your hood up at all times. With the final update coming to the game, it will not affect the game mechanics and will only be a cosmetic option even when you take off Eivors cloak.
After all of the content given over the past two years, the developers still hinted there is more to come in the final update but remained tight-lipped about what other surprises they have. I can not wait to finish Eivors story and finalize this massive and brilliant game. The final update for Assassins Creed: Valhalla is going live on all Platforms on the 6th of December.
