Electronic Arts and DICE have shown off a brand new trailer for Battlefield 1 that focuses on it’s campaign.
The trailer (Seen below) introduces Battlefield 1‘s new campaign. The campaign is now split up into different sections – showcasing different scenarios in which several protagonists struggle through the battle in World War 1. Each protagonist will have their own unique style of combat, which can range from different abilities to the weapons they use in combat.
Each campaign will be set in a unique biome, with EA highlighting the forest, desert and muddy battlefields that the player will be immersed in throughout gameplay. This is something completely new for a modern first-person shooter, as most titles force the player in experiencing war from one person’s point of view.
“There were so many different perspectives and characters in World War 1 and we wanted to cover as much ground as possible,” EA said in a blog post. “This made us reconsider the format of what we’d offer in Battlefield 1 single player. We felt that to have one character hopping through those different settings wouldn’t be as immersive or totally respectful to the setting. So we decided on an anthology format; a set of characters with their own more focused stories. That way we can have immersion and variety – a double win.”
Battlefield 1 will hit store shelves on October 21st for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
