The Wii U version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been canceled. In its place, the game is now being developed for the Nintendo Switch.
This update came from the game’s official Kickstarter page, stating that the Wii U was “at the height of its popularity” when they released the Kickstarter project in 2015. Since then, the Nintendo Switch has been released, and with it’s continued success, the team has decided to cancel the Wii U version of the game.
“This change made it difficult to receive the necessary support from the hardware maker,” Said Producer Koji Igarashi. “Which has led us to drop the Wii U development and shift the development to Nintendo Switch. “
Those who kickstarted the game that initially signed up to receive the Nintendo Wii U version are asked to change their platform of choice to either of the other platforms or submit a request for a refund.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night releases for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in early 2018.
