The British Esports Association and the NSPCC have partnered up to educate parents and carers about esports and online safety. The goal was to expand their knowledge about the industry and how their children could benefit from it.
“At British Esports, we’re helping to establish industry standards for safeguarding and keeping young people safe online. Developing the Parent & Carer guide in Collaboration with the NSPCC has allowed us to celebrate many of the positives around esports, and also highlight important issues around safeguarding and online safety.”
Head of Education at British Esports Association, Tom Dore
The guide includes information about the British Esports Student Champs, benefits of esports, esports in education, academic pathways, and more. This includes inclusivity and diversity in esports, “How you can get involved with your child,” Parents’ testimonials, and Online safety!
“The NSPCC is delighted to have worked with British Esports on developing a supporting guide for parents and carers to help them understand the industry, and the steps they are taking to keep their children safe.”
Head of Professional Engagements, Christain McMullen
In conclusion, The British Esports Association partnered with NSPCC to educate parents and guardians about online safety and child benefits from esports. You can find the full guide here.
