Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions has finally received a release date and shows off some new gameplay with latest trailer. Japan’s legendary football manga has got an upcoming game from BANDAI NAMCO, and it has received a brand new trailer. This trailer announced when the game will be released, as well as showing off a new game system.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions shows an interesting take on its FIFA-like gameplay. It has fast paced gameplay combined with some well directed cut scenes that play when you perform basic acts, like dribbling the ball and shooting for a goal. We got to see two different uniforms that will be in the game at launch.
The trailer also showed off a new game mechanic called the V-Zone Gauge, which allows you to refill your super meter almost instantly and perform super saves to stop your opponent from scoring.
Finally, we also have future DLC content that will be released later on down the line. There will also be a seasons pass that includes a new Champion Uniform set and DLC characters. However this pass has yet to receive a release date.
There will also be several different pre-order editions of the game, so you can choose exactly what you want. With the Legend’s Edition including all merchandise, the first 9 DLC characters, the first season plus a personal football jersey with your name on the back, and a fully customised Football Table for £1,789.99, it’s the fourth most expensive game pre-order of all time.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions will release August 28th, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam. For more reviews and gaming news you can keep up to date at Informed Pixel.
