The much anticipated JRPG Cris Tales, developed by Dreams Uncorporated and SYNK, is set to release in Spring of 2021. It has recently received new details, including the price of the game’s Collector’s Edition.
The edition itself comes with a plethora of both digital and physical goodies, including a physical copy of the game for consoles and a digital download code for Steam. It also includes a 60-page collector’s art book and a 9” Matias Plush.
Other items include 4 Enamel Character Pins, 3 Character Stickers, 2 Lithographic Art Prints, a ‘Peek-a-boo’ Game O-sleeve and Collector’s Box. Digital items are desktop and phone wallpapers and 10-character avatars.
Just like all retail editions of the title, the Cris Tales Collector’s Edition will also include a key art poster present inside the game’s case.
Cris Tales describes itself as a “gorgeous, indie love letter to classic JRPGs with a new perspective” and “A love letter to classic JRPGs.” According to the developers, their aim with the title is to embody what made classic JRPGs so much fun, but also to add their own twist to the genre.
The title focuses heavily on the premise of time interaction and manipulation, and allows the player to interact with the past, present and future at the same time on the one screen.
The game began development back in 2014, and like most JRPGs promises a large level of character choice. The title presents itself through fantastically hand-drawn 2D animations and already has a demo for players to experience on Steam.
Cris Tales Collectors Edition will release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC for $99.99. The Collector’s Edition itself only ships to the US, but PC players outside the US can get the editions’ downloadable content through Steam.
