The 9th generation of gaming is about to have its might tested, as the Crysis trilogy is getting a full remaster! Confirmed by EA and Crytek, the Crysis Remastered Trilogy will be engaging on Consoles and PC this year!
The Crysis Remastered Trilogy will contain official remasters of the Crysis, Crysis 2 & Crysis 3. PC gamers will be benefiting from upgraded versions of the technical masterpieces. Meanwhile, console players will be able to experience the Crysis games properly for the first time!
“We’re excited to announce that these iconic Crysis games are returning in one bundle, remastered for a new generation of hardware. Each game is enhanced to look and play beautifully on today’s platforms, delivering the finest Crysis experience for both newcomers to our classic franchise or players wishing to relive the adventure.”

Maximum Sequels
The Crysis franchise is famous for its intense technical prowess, open-ended gameplay and ludicrously intense stories. With each game comes unique elements that make for a legendary experience that has yet to be replicated!
The original Crysis follows Nomad and Raptor Team infiltrating the fictional Lingshan Islands. What first begins as a mission to stop the local Korean forces quickly turns into an extinction-level event. With a wide open-ended level design and different ways to approach combat situations, Crysis remains one of the best PC games to date.
Crysis 2 follows Alcatraz as he works through battle-torn New York City to stop the Alien Ceph’s invasion. The new Nanosuit 2.0 helps refine the gameplay to fit a more linear design, with new and improved features from the original. While not as open as the original, the intense story and action-heavy gameplay make for a great sequel!
Prophet returns in Crysis 3, finding himself in an overgrown New York City filled with threats. The game features a perfectly tweaked Nanosuit 2.0, with a more open-ended level approach similar to the original. Stealth sections are enhanced with the addition of the combat bow, while an expanded arsenal improves the intense action!
Unfortunately, not all news is good. Firstly the remastered bundle will not include any of the multiplayer modes nor the popular spinoff title Crysis Warhead. Secondly, the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions will be backwards compatible versions at launch, despite being marketed for “next-gen hardware”.
However, if last year’s Crysis Remastered indicates anything, gamers should expect a pretty good package overall. Currently, it can run on the Xbox Series X at 4K, 60FPS with Raytracing – despite being a backwards compatible title. Please read our review of the Xbox One X & PC version of Crysis Remastered here!
Enhanced Pixels
The Crysis Remastered Trilogy will be releasing in Fall 2021 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It will be playable on Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility at launch. Learn more about Crysis at the official website!
