The award-winning indie game from Devolver Digital, Cult of the Lamb, just received its first major update. Relics of the Old Faith brings new post-game content, as well as some welcome improvements. This expansion should make diving back into the cult high on any indie lover’s to-do list.
Cult of the Lamb is a story about a possessed Lamb who was saved by a mysterious being. Upon being saved, the lamb is tasked with building a cult to appease the deity which saved them. In order to accomplish this task, you must launch a crusade to defeat the enemies of your saviour deity. Along the way, you must also rescue animal companions to indoctrinate into your cult and grow your numbers. The Relics of the Old Faith introduces new lore and allows even more opportunities to expand your influence and gather more faithful followers.
New Story
The post-game content begins when a mysterious stranger asks you to use Relics to help conquer revamped crusades. Each Relic helps enhance your combat in new and interesting ways. New lore about “The Three Ducks” will take shape as you uncover more Relics. Along with the revamped crusades comes a new ability called Heavy Attack to help you embark on more challenging expeditions and take down beefier bosses.
Every Cult Needs Followers
New abilities have also been added for your followers, helping make an even happier commune! You can now assign a follower to help with meal prep and cook up to thirty meals while assigning another to build the new Shared Shelters. For your poor unfortunate followers that pass on, a new Crypt is a great place to rest their souls. Don’t forget to put up some new Farm Plot Signs, which will help your followers organize the cult’s crops for a better harvest.
Your followers can also take on new forms with this update. Be on the lookout for badgers, penguins, raccoons, and much more. Newly added Photo Mode can help you preserve your memories and show off your new members to share with your fellow Leaders.
