Bungie’s Destiny 2 has seen lots of success across all platforms, but on PC, it surpassed every game in Activision’s library.
The news comes from Activision Blizzard’s official ‘notice of 2018 annual meeting of stockholders and proxy statement‘ document. With help of Blizzard’s Battle.net service, Destiny 2 beat out all other Activision titles on PC, including Call of Duty: WWII, Prototype, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. An official quote from the document reads:
“Activision and Bungie’s Destiny 2 was the second-highest-grossing console game in North America for the year,(Based on data from the NPD Group, GfK, GSD, and internal estimates) had the largest PC launch in Activision history based on units.“
On console, Destiny 2 was the second highest-grossing video game in 2017, coming just shy of Activision’s own Call of Duty: WWII which was released in the tail end of of the year. The second expansion for the game, Warmind, is scheduled to launch on May 8th for all platforms.
Destiny 2 is available for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC via Blizzard’s Battle.net store.
