With all of the digital events happening lately, it might be hard for someone to keep track. While none of them have had any “bombshell” news, there is plenty of smaller explosives to be had. Recently there was another event, this time digital, which revealed more on the Monster Hunter games.
The two games, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, will both release on Nintendo Switch; Wings of Ruin, however, will also be seen on Windows PC’s.
In Monster Hunter Rise, a Rampage quest type was the focus. Players will work with NPC’s to prepare defensive installations and protect the stronghold from waves of monsters. There is also a new “Hunter Connect” that allows players to “create tags with their objectives and playstyle [or] search for other players with the same tags”.
The game will feature dynamic difficulty scaling, rising and falling as players leave and join the party. For those who want a chance to play it (or play more), a second demo will release on March 12th, 2021, with the game releasing on March 26th, 2021.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin didn’t have as much to show. It intended to “set the stage for the epic journey with Razewing Rathalos.” But it also showed the return of Felyne hero Navirou, and hinted at co-op multiplayer quests.
The deluxe edition of the game will include “Razewing layered armour sets and Nergigante-inspired hairstyle, the Kuan Coat outfit for your Wyverian companion Ena, two new outfits for Navirou, and two sticker sets.”
There will also be various pre-order bonuses available for both release platforms, with Amiibo figurines for the Nintendo Switch version. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will release on July 9th, 2021.
