Almost a week after teasing the next game in the Dragon Ball Z universe on Twitter, Bandai Namco has released an announcement trailer for Dragon Ball Game – Project Z. The video was released during the Red Bull Final Summoning Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament on Jan. 27.
The trailer shows that the game will go through the first stories in the Dragon Ball Z series, and shows villains all the way up to Frieza. “True warriors are in a never ending search… for the ultimate fight!” is how the narrator kicks off the trailer before they go into showing glimpses of what stories are going to be told in the game. It is going be an action RPG developed by the people at CyberConnect 2, responsible for games in the Naruto universe, as well as the .hack series.
The game is going to be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, but not on the Nintendo Switch. No details have been released as to whether they intend to release a port for the Nintendo Switch, so all those folks may be out of luck. The game is set to release sometime in 2019, so we can expect to see more details coming soon. As for right now Bandai Namco is promising “Determination, Despair, and Hope — Discover the story of the mysterious Dragon Balls in the all new DRAGON BALL GAME – PROJECT Z!”
