Dungeon Defenders: Awakened, a strategy game with some action elements, is coming to consoles. If you were wondering when you would have the chance to defend your own dungeon, wonder no longer. The Dungeon Defenders: Awakened release dates have been revealed.
Like most tower-defence style games, the player will select units and place them along trails. The strategy comes in while trying to decide the optimum placements. But Dungeon Defenders: Awakened doesn’t want to just leave it there.
Each player will also control a Defender. These characters will have special attacks and abilities to aid in the fight. The game will also come with multiple game modes: Campaign, Pure Strategy, Mix Mode, and Survival. Pure Strategy removes the Defenders and leaves the player with towers, and Mix Mode alters every stage.
Chromatic Games, the developers, have stated that the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One versions will have new features. These include customizable characters and games. There is no word on the PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch versions, but considering they arrive later in 2021, they should also have those features.
There is also the addition of allowing the player to choose Rifted maps. Essentially, these will bulk up the power of the enemies, but in return the player will receive better rewards.
As for the release date on the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, it is March 17th, 2021. The game is already available on Steam, and will be released on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch later in 2021. So if you want to “wield powered-up defences, powerful heroes, and the most powerfulest of powers”, then you might want to keep a look-out from your tower.
