In August of 2023, it was announced that E3 would return to an in person format in 2023. ReedPop and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) are teaming up to bring a fresh new outlook to the event. After taking 2022 off, its looking like much needed changes are coming to the event taking place in June 2023.
First off, it was announced that E3 will last from Tuesday, June 13 – Friday, June 16 2023 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It also seems that they’ve changed who can show up on what days. The first two days are only for the business industry. The third day is for both business and the consumer, and the last day is only for the consumer.
The first two days are only for the business industry. So E3 is trying to make the process of interviews and networking much easier. They are also adding a meeting space in the E3 app that now can include every developer that is holding an event during E3 week. Even if the developer is in the car park, if they are on the app, you can schedule a meeting with them.
E3 is looking to use half of the LACC for only the industry side with more comfortable booths as well as a quieter atmosphere. Kentia Hall is also, hopefully, being re-opened for the business attendees. GamesIndustry.biz will also be there to send data, insight, interviews, and analysis directly to attendees’ inbox throughout the event.
The last two days will be the grand event we all know and love. With the general public allowed in to check out all the new games that are present. This format will hopefully quell some of the issues of long lines for certain booths, as well as give the public more access. More elements are planned but, at the moment, not announced so stay tuned for more E3 updates.
E3 returns in person on June 13, 2023. Maybe we will hear more about the new Iron Man game that was recently announced. Let us know your predictions for E3 over on our Twitter.
