Electronic Arts executive Patrick Söderlund is leaving the company after 12 years of employment.
Formerly Söderlund was CEO of the developer behind the Battlefield franchise, DICE. When DICE was acquired by EA, he grew through the ranks at Electronic Arts where he eventually took on the role of Executive Vice President of EA Worldwide.
EA made the announcement late yesterday:
Today we are announcing that Patrick Söderlund has made the decision to move on from EA. After nearly two decades as a pioneer for our company and industry, he will begin a new chapter later this year.
You may have seen Söderlund in many of the presentations for EA’s titles. In recent years, he was on stage at EA Play and Microsoft’s press conferences during E3 to give us glimpes of Battlefield games such as Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, and Battlefield V.
At the time of this writing, there is no word on if he will continue working with game studios. Either way, we wish Söderlund the best with his future endeavors.
Battlefield V releases on October 11th, 2018, for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
