Competing in video games has evolved to the point that people can now make decent livings off of them. As a result, the Electronic Sports scene is booming with millions of people actively competing in solo and team based tournaments. However, it seems that the Electronic Sports League will now start testing the e-Sports entrants for drug use.
This follows the reveal that a number of professional e-Sports players were abusing the ADHD medication, Adderall. This medication assists and improves reaction time and awareness, so it should come as no shock that some entrants have been using it to get the edge they need to surpass their opponents.
This move from the Electronic Sports League is very welcome as it will eliminate unfair advantages and remove the misuse of drugs.
