Update 7:56AM – According to Gameinformer, Square Enix has confirmed that a North American release of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will arrive in 2017.
Original: Square Enix has announced a remastered version of Final Fantasy XII is in development for the Playstation 4.
The official title of the game will be Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age; Dropping the famous ‘HD’ suffix we have gotten familiar with on previous remastered Final Fantasy titles. While the game has been announced for release in Japan, there has been no information on if the game would make it’s way to North America. With this being said, we may see more information roll out of next week’s E3.
To pair with the announcement, Square Enix released a ‘teaser’ of things to come, which showcases quite a bit of content. The trailer showcases some of the beautifully remastered visuals you can expect to see when the game launches next year, and a brief glimpse of what seems to be a blend of fighting mechanics from recent Final Fantasy titles. Feel free to take a look for yourself after the break.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is scheduled to arrive on the Playstation 4 in 2017.
