Nintendo is bringing the Fire Emblem series to mobile devices later this year.
Titled Fire Emblem Heroes, Nintendo is developing a portable adventure that is easy to play and enjoy even when time is short. Players will play the role as a “Summoner,” who will summon popular Fire Emblem characters to their aid. These characters include returning favorites such as Marth, Roy, Chrom, and Ike, as well as some newcomers to the series.
As the in-game characters earn experience, players can earn level up their heroes and earn special rewards for completing tasks. According to Nintendo, there will be a plethora of unlockables available to the player, allowing for a ton of replayability upon its release.
While the game is available as a free download, Nintendo does mention that there are “optional in-app purchases” will be available upon launch. We assume this would be available in the form of micro-transactions, but Nintendo has yet to announce such details.
Fire Emblem Heroes releases on February 2nd for iOS and Android devices.
