Gaming has some great crossovers. Fighting games like Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur have additional characters for every iteration. These include such famous ones as the Xenomorph, Leatherface and the Joker for the former, and Geralt, Spawn and Link for the latter.
This of course, is nothing when considering Super Smash Bros., probably the biggest crossover even in games. The Nintendo series brings together mascots and characters of all types to battle each other. While SEGA won’t being going to that extent, they also have a crossover announcement. There is a new event for Fist of the North Star LEGENDS ReVIVE, a game that launched in September 2019.
As for the game/characters set to appear in the mobile game, its none other than Virtua Fighter, but it isn’t a full-on clash between the two games. Only two characters will be making the transition, Akira Yuki and Pai Chan. Both of them will be included as Ultra Rare characters, but Akira Yuki will also have a second, Super Rare version.
This Super Rare Akira Yuki is “in the style of his first Virtua Fighter appearance and can be claimed as a log-in bonus for free.” There will also be an Immortal event where players can compete as these characters. The trailer is below.
Miki Shinichiro and Minami Takayama will be voicing their usual roles as Akira and Pai, respectively. Fans will have the character’s usual voices to bring veracity to the crossover. As for the event itself, its not permanent. It will run from July 30th, 2020 until August 12th, 2020, so if you want the Virtua Fighter characters, you’ll have to win them within that time period.
