There has been an update on the new game revealed last year, Ghostrunner, which is developed by One More Level and Co-Developed by Slipgate Ironworks. One More Level is responsible for games such as Gods Trigger, Warlocks vs Shadows and Crime Secrets: Crimson Lily. Slipgate Ironworks on the other hand is responsible for games like Rise of the Triad, Kingpin Reloaded and several Duke Nukem releases.
We’ve been given a beautifully rendered CGI trailer depicting the fast paced sleek gameplay we have already seen from this free running cyberpunk extravaganza. The release of this trailer has been bundled with a free to play demo that is now available on Steam from May 6th, 2020 until May 13th, 2020.
The game was originally debuted at at Gamescom 2019, showing 8 minutes of footage that showed certain mechanics including bullet time. There was also free-running gameplay from a first person perspective in a cyberpunk setting.
As mentioned earlier, certain gameplay features have already been shown, such as bullet time. The excitement doesn’t stop there though, as the game offers dynamic movement based gameplay that requires precision and skill. The game also offers trial and error based gameplay, due to the character dying in one hit. This high risk gameplay requires players to learn the levels perfectly and adapt to the challenges as they come.
As you can see, this is an ambitious project for such a small studio. It is currently looking fantastic and is one of many games to keep an eye on this season while we are all stuck in quarantine. You can check out the steam page for the game here.
