As many Halo fans and none Halo fans know, Halo coming to PC has been a long time wish for the PC community. With Halo: The Master Chief Collection being announced for PC early 2019, PC players and long time Halo fans have awaited more details about the expected release date.
343 Industries set up a flighting program for Halo: The Master Chief Collection that would allow a selected amount of users to test the current build of the game. This allowed the selected users to provide feedback to 343 Industries and improve the game ready for launch. Unfortunately this process took a lot longer than initially anticipated and fans were left wondering when the game would actually release.
During the X019 Xbox event in London, 343 Industries revealed the release date for Halo Reach on both Xbox One and PC. Fans of the Halo franchise have been split about this news, some claiming it is far too early to launch Halo Reach for PC given how many issues the recent builds have had.
An important note is that current flight builds are always many weeks behind where the studio are with the game, so most feedback given during the current flights has likely already been implemented into the studio version of the game.
Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST Campaign, and Halo 4 to are planned to release on PC sometime in 2020 according to the email sent out by 343 Industries. Halo 3 in particular is a highly anticipated release for PC, but with so much to work on, it’s anyone’s guess as to when in 2020 the title will be ready.
Halo Reach will be releasing to PC and Xbox One on December 3rd, 2019 via Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
