343 Industries and Creative Assembly confirmed that Halo Wars 2 has gone gold, meaning the game is finished and is now in production for retail consumption.
Halo Wars 2 marks the first time for the franchise that the game will simultaneously launch for Xbox One and PC. Better yet, fans who pick up the digital version of the game on Xbox One will net a free copy of the game on PC, and vice versa, thanks to Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere program.
The game’s second beta will run from January 20th until the 30th, allowing Xbox Live subscribers access to the new Blitz mode shipping with the full game next month. Blitz mode takes advantage of a familiar way to play strategy games – with cards.
Halo Wars 2 releases exclusively for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on February 21st, 2017.
