Hearthstone: Madness at the Darkmoon Faire has released. The latest instalment features a dark twist of theme, and the return of some powerful beings many players have fond memories of. Here is all the details of the newest expansion for the Blizzard online card game for PC, IOS and Android.
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire sees a return of the fan favourite ‘Old Gods’ in new, interesting ways. Similar to their first appearance in Whispers of the Old Gods, the cards still hold the ability to turn the tides of a game on their own. The new Yogg-Saron card named ‘Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate’ pays homage to the original Old God of chaos we all loved in the past.
The card features the wheel of Yogg-Saron that spins to reveal a random effect, including the original battlecry of the past. C’thun’s latest rendition now breaks apart into pieces that are added to your deck. Upon playing the individual pieces, you shuffle a C’thun that deals 30 damage, split amongst all enemies, when he enters the board.
The new set doesn’t just feature new cards, but also a series of updates, which includes a new game mode and overhaul of the existing quest system. Duels is Hearthstone’s newest game mode and features a linear challenge. As you gradually build your deck with new cards and treasures you will fight off other players doing the same in an attempt to reach 12 wins.
After a positive pre-release, Duels was made available with the Madness at the Darkmoon Faire bundle. The game mode features many of the enjoyable features from previous single player game modes. However, the new mode allows you to run against other real players and has a range of new heroes with individual treasures and hero powers to choose from.
A new experience based system has replaced the existing quest system to earn coins for card packs. Now players can earn packs, coins and more as they level up each season by completing quests and earning achievements. Now you can have a visual representation of progress and can find new challenges, even being able to compare with friends.
