Awesome Games Done Quick is back for another week of insane charity fundraising. This year the video game speedrunning marathon is looking to raise more than $1 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, the only U.S. nonprofit focused solely on cancer prevention and early detection.
Awesome Games Done Quick is an annual gathering of some of the gaming’s finest speedrunners to play as many games in seven days as possible. The previous two years of the fundraiser crushed the $1 million mark, so if you have some cash to burn, it’s a pretty good way to support a charity through something you love.
If you’re new to the event, be sure to prepare yourself to watch your favourite childhood games get absolutely destroyed. Finishing all of the dungeons in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in less than two hours demonstrates how broken Nintendo 64-era games actually were.
If you can’t watch the full stream on Twitch, check out this list to see when your favourite games are getting the speedrun treatment. Awesome Games Done Quick 2017 runs until Jan. 14.
