With all the Battle Royals out and about these days, and surely more on the horizon, developers need to keep things spicy in order to maintain player base. With that in mind, Ubisoft has given us a trailer showcasing the updates to their newest IP. Hyper Scape: Faction War mode has released for a limited time.
Here’s what you need to know. 96 players, in groups of 3, fighting as part of 4 factions. Yep, that’s basically it. Simple concept that changes the dynamic of the Battle Royale into a large scale Team Deathmatch. Think hardcore mode, where everybody only has one life, unless resurrected by direct teammates.
Since the release of Hyper Scape Season 1, “The First Principle”, plenty of new features have been introduced and/or are in the works. Cross progression is a solid lead off for sure. Any content unlocked through watching Crowncast-enabled streams on twitch carries over. Cross play is going to be implemented soon, but will be an optional feature. Having it optional is almost a necessity these days, as console players are usually at a disadvantage against the mouse and keyboard humans.
Season 1 also introduced the Dragonfly, a new silenced semi-automatic rifle for mid to long range combat. Another hack entitled the ‘Magnet’ is also available. Enemies caught in its area of effect are trapped and pulled inwards. This brings the number of weapons and hacks to 11 a piece.
Hyper Scape: Faction War is available right now, and will be available to play until September 1, 2020. Hyper Scape is free to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
