Intellivision Entertainment is bringing a new video game console to market within the next year.
If you were gaming in the early 1980’s, you may remember the Intellivision video game console, one of the first video game consoles ever produced. The console ushered in hundreds of videos games, including the first officially licensed sports games National Hockey League (NHL), National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), and Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA).
The disclosure of a new console follows the announcement of Intellivision Entertainment’s new president, Tommy Tallarico. Tallarico is involved with the Video Game Industry in numerous ways, with his most notable entry as the creator of Video Games Live. Before this, Tallarico worked as a Video Game Composer, who helped, in part, develop the scores for Earthworm Jim, Prince of Persia and Disney’s Aladdin. Due to his experience in the industry, he should make for an excellent president for Intellivision’s upcoming video game console.
“I grew up playing Intellivision with my parents and younger brother,” says Tallarico. “It was always my favorite system because the games were cutting edge, yet fun and simple to play so our entire family could enjoy them together. I find those important elements to generally be lacking from our industry with the current modern gaming consoles. Our goal is to change that by focusing on bringing all age groups and levels of gamers and non-gamers together while introducing new generations of people to the legacy success of the Intellivision brand.”
More details about the new console are expected to be announced on October 1st, 2018. At the present time, we don’t know much about the console, only that “The new Intellivision system (name TBA) will carry on the company tradition of “firsts” with its new concept, design and approach to gaming” similarly to the original Intellivision console released in 1979.
The original Intellivision console originally released in 1979.
