The Countdown
On July 6th, 2021, the Hololive English Youtube Channel uploaded a premiere video with a mysterious 8 hour countdown set to end at 6:00 PM PDT (7/7 1:00 AM GMT).
Many viewers were speculating what it could be, with many thinking it was the announcement for the 2nd Generation of Hololive EN.
The countdown ended and then the video simply cut off. What was this countdown for? Was it all just an elaborate joke?
As you’ve already read the title, you’ll know that’s not true, but there was a large amount of confusion amongst fans for a brief period of time before many realised the newly released videos on the channel.
Project Hope: IRyS
This was actually the countdown for a new VSinger that would be joining the Hollive EN group. The new singer’s name is IRyS and she is half-demon and half-angel (a nephilim) She is part of what is being called Project:HOPE which is what she hopes to bring to people through her songs.
She is set to debut on July 10th 2021 at 6:00 PM PDT (7/11 1:00 AM GMT) on her channel. Also be sure to follow her on Twitter @irys_en
Problems Arise
Speaking of her social media accounts, it seems that just moments after the announcement of her debut, both her Youtube and Twitter accounts were hit with many restrictions due to excessive activity.
However, this didn’t stop the huge amount of pre-existing Hololive fans from following and subscribing. Both of her accounts were able to break through the 100K milestone within minutes. Hopefully they are able to resolve any remaining issue so we can enjoy her debut as planned.
