A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Left For Dead 2 has finally received some love after nearly decade. What seemed like another abandoned game too old to be revisited, fans of the series and game were very excited to hear the news. One of the most iconic zombie shooters of our time was finally getting an update. “The Last Stand.”
So What’s New?
Quite a bit excitingly. The new update is boasting 30 new achievements, new survival maps, 2 brand new mutations and a plethora of bug and exploit fixes. The update comes from collaborative effort of 30+ community members working together with Valve over the course of 11 months to create the new content for this beloved game. It is also a free update, available to all owners of the PC game.
A Dedicated Community
The Left For Dead Community has always been huge, and has brought new content over the years due to mods and collaborative efforts with valve themselves, such as this update. Many groups are always working on bringing major releases, and Left For Dead has seen huge updates of content over the years from fans.
It’s great to see valve acknowledging the efforts of the community to keep this amazing game alive instead of shutting it down, which seems to be an unfortunate common theme from some companies. This isn’t the first time either, as Valve also worked closely with the community back in 2012 for the “Cold Stream” update and DLC.
Just like any other game with a disclaimer, left for dead 2 is no exception. Parents need to take extra precautions before they can let their kids play this game. It involves a lot of shooting, with zombies, which can affect a player. But if there are no such things, then where is the fun in playing such a game.
This is what people have been waiting for. Everyone wants some excitement and a little terror here and there. So, if you plan on playing this game, ensure to have adult supervision.
