After weeks of rumors, subtle hints, and vague clues, Capcom has indeed finally confirmed the long-awaited fourth installment in the Marvel Vs. Capcom series of fighting games.
Titled Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite, not much is currently known about the title unfortunately. Marvel’s Mike Jones has stated that their goal with the game is to truly stand up to the illustrious legacy left by the series, mentioning that they’ve “worked closely with Capcom to create a game that honors the heritage of the series and combines Marvel’s unique brand of storytelling with Capcom’s world-class gameplay. We’re raising the bar with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and are excited for players to get their hands on it next year.”
Additionally, while the game will still feature the traditional Arcade mode, for the first time ever, it promises a full-fledged story mode, a completely new, immersive, and cinematic experience. For more information, be sure to tune in to ESPN2 at 5:30PM PST on December 4th, where Capcom will be showing off an extended gameplay trailer.
Finally, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Ultimate has been re-released on the Playstation 4 in 1080p with 60 fps as of today for $24.99 USD. Xbox One and PC versions will be releasing March 2017. Could this potentially be a hint at MvC: Infinite’s release as well?
Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite will be out for release sometime in 2017 for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
