The newest game from the developers of the Danganronpa series has been unveiled at the latest Nintendo Direct. In a similar vein to Spike Chonsoft’s previous games, Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE will be a heavily story-based mystery game.
Master Detective: RAIN CODE appropriately takes place in a city where the rain mysteriously never ceases. It’s revealed that the rain is under heavy control by a mega-corporation. The player takes on the role of Yuma, an up-and-coming detective suffering from amnesia.
Luckily, you are not alone. Yuma is haunted by a spirit companion named Shinigami. Though a haunting may sound inconvenient, Yuma has more assistance to help with this spooky situation. A team of Master Detectives, whom will help further Yuma’s skills and training.
Fully rendered in 3D, the game shares elements that may remind gamers of the Danganronpa games, but with a touch of Atlus’ Persona series’ trademark flare as well. The game is progressed through dialogue choices, puzzle solving, and adventurous missions, taking the player through a unique and ever changing labyrinth realm.
Players will be on their toes in order to put together the pieces of the mysteries shrouding this eerie town.
Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE is expected to release on Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023.
