With only one day left until launch, more and more details are coming out about Metal Gear Solid V’s various features, including as of today (courtesy of the Metal Gear Network), the pricing details for the “Mother Base Coins”, a form of micro-transaction involved in the game’s Forward Operating Base online mode.
Forward Operating Base mode, referred to as “FOB”, is a new feature exclusive to the fifth installment. Not to be confused with the upcoming Metal Gear Online, FOB allows you to build your own base, and invade other bases in order to dominate your opponents and control more territories. Mother Base Coins are optionally used to reduce the time needed to complete a structure, which, at higher levels, can reportedly take around a few hours.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches September 1st for PC and consoles, alongside FOB mode, with Metal Gear Online coming later this October.
