The new game developed by Platinum Games, Scalebound, is canceled and no longer in development.
Kotaku received several reports that Scalebound, Microsoft’s upcoming exclusive for Windows 10 PC and Xbox One would face cancellation. The game has also been removed from the official Xbox website, leading people to believe that the game has been canned. Shortly after Kotaku’s article went live, Microsoft made an official statement.
“After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for “Scalebound.” We’re working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year, including “Halo Wars 2,” “Crackdown 3,” “State of Decay 2,” “Sea of Thieves” and other great experiences.”
The game was delayed several times since it’s E3 2014 showing. Besides the quote above, no other information is being provided regarding Scalebound’s cancellation. If we hear more details about the news, we will be sure to keep you informed.
Scalebound was due to released in 2017.
