The iconic giant robots of one Japan’s most beloved franchises are back in a port of the popular arcade game, Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Maxiboost On. This is a 2v2 3D action battle game where you and an ally fight to win against other Gundam mechs, until one side remains standing.
With this pre-order announcement via the latest trailer, we were also given the announcement that the open access of the game is now available to play and contains a large amount of content for a beta.
There are three game modes to play:
Player Match, this is the 4 to 18 player mode which the host can choose two team modes, those being your basic team death match/slayer mode and an 18 player free for all. Casual Match, the 2v2 mode where ranks do not matter and you can simply have fun with three other players. Branch Battle, the simple mission mode where you can learn all the Gundam units as you complete missions against AI players.
In terms of playable Gundam mechs, you can play is a whopping 185 Mech units from all different periods in the Gundam universe and even two brand new units that were not in the original arcade version. Those new units being Montero and Zaku Amazing.
Now to talk about the pre-order and all the bonuses that come with it. We have the Gundam mecha Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex, which is from the second season of the Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans anime, the Operator Sthesia Awar from the game Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 and an additional 24 hours of playtime of the open access beta.
