Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for the console release of MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM EXTREME VS. MAXIBOOST ON, showing off the single player content exclusive to the console version of the game. So for a quick rundown on Maxiboost, it is a port of the Japanese exclusive arcade game of the same name that plays similarly to Dragon Ball Xenoverse as a 3D fighting game.
Now let’s go over what the trailer has shown and it seems we have a lot of talk about. So we get an introduction to the MaxiBoost mission mode via Gundam character Sthesia Awar. The mission range in difficulty in groups similar to worlds in Super Mario.
The first mission area also serves as tutorial levels, teaching you the controls ranging from moving to targeting enemies. Naturally, it all ends in a boss fight on the final level which when defeated leads you to the next area.
Now the bosses are incredibly tough, but there are Break Missions which are optional missions that weaken the area boss. This is not the only way to make boss fights even easier, this is where customising your mobile suit comes into play. You can add parts to increase your attack, defence, speed, increase your beams power and even health regeneration which can all level up and be more powerful.
Next up there is Score Attack, another optional mission where you simply try and gain a high score within a set time limit. Finally there’s Time Attack, which is as simple as it sounds, try and beat the mission as fast as possible. There over 200 missions to complete, so there is a large amount of goals to achieve for you 100% completion players, and even possible dream Gundam match ups for the Gundam fans.
MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM EXTREME VS. MAXIBOOST ON will be released on July 30th, 2020 exclusively for PlayStation 4. I wish all you future mech pilots the very best.
