If you’re a fan of the long-standing RPG series, Monster Hunter, then you’re in for a treat! During the Monster Hunter Digital Event Capcom shared new details for Monster Hunter Rise, the newest iteration of the series, as well as announcing the Monster Hunter Rise demo.
Fans of the series were also shown a brand new trailer introducing the “Wvyern Riding” gameplay mechanic which also featured a new monster, a collection of returning monsters, and a frosty new hunting ground.
What’s in the demo?
The demo provides players with all 14 weapon types to use at their pleasure, as well as various modes and quests. These modes include a training area where players will get an introduction to the new mechanics Monster Hunter Rise has to offer as well as learning the basics for any newcomers.
On top of putting their skills to practice, players will be able to explore various quests. From the player-friendly ‘Izuchi’ quest if you’re new to the series, or the ‘Mizutsune’ quest if you’ve got more experience with the series. If you’re looking forward to the new Wyvern Riding, then the demo will allow you to experience a taste of it before launch.
It’s important to note both the training and Wyvern riding activities are solo play only. You will be able to experience both the Izuchi and Mizutsune quest via local multiplayer, online multiplayer, or solo if you so wish to. The demo will also provide players with a total of 30 quest attempts, which are shared between the Izuchi and Mizutsune quests.
New Monsters!
Players can look forward to entirely new monsters in Monster Hunter Rise, such as the Icy Goss Harag which is said to send chills down hunters’ spines, while it roams through the snowy fields searching for prey.
For any classic fans of the Monster Hunter series, you will be happy to know fan-favourite monsters will also be returning. In addition to the previously announced monsters, Lagombi, Khezu, Great Baggi, Barioth, Mizutsune, and Tigrex will return, with more returning monsters to be revealed in the months ahead.
