Ever sat down to play Mortal Kombat and thought that it needed a little bit more darkness? Did you think that adding the likes of the Xenomorph, Leatherface and Jason Voorhees to the previous instalment’s roster was mere lip-service? Well, this Halloween Mortal Kombat 11 is handing out seasonal in-game treats to all of those who rang their bell– no tricks necessary!
NetherRealm Studios announced that Mortal Kombat 11 would be receiving some new skins, Bosses, and Brutalities on October 25th, and lasting until November 1st (along with an update to be released on October 18th that will bring with it Team Raid battles). There will be a total of 4 new Bosses against whom players can test their mettle, and each of which will be clad in one of the new Halloween-themed costumes.
There are costumes which can be purchased immediately for those who don’t want to wait until October 25th to dress up. Entitled “The Masquerade skin pack”, it’s comprised of “Wicked Witch Jade”, the “Psycho Killer Kabal” and the “Calavera Liu Kang”, each of which can be seen in action in the trailer below.
The Team Raid battles that are coming as part of the update will feature new Towers that require multiple players to work together towards a common goal while sharing 5 lives between them and culminating in a Boss battle that NetherRealm insists will be on the “Very Hard” difficulty setting. However, if your team can power through it, you will all receive a boost.
On top of this, the T-800 was just added to the roster recently and Sindel is set to scream her way into the tournament on November 26th. After that there is still Spawn and the Joker to come, so there will be plenty more bone-crunching brutality to be had in the coming weeks and months. The Halloween event will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
