Mortal Enemies or BFFs? Nothing speaks visceral and brutal violence like finishing off your sworn enemy in a shroud of confetti and a great big hug! That’s right, the fan-favorite “Friendships” are returning in Mortal Kombat 11 for FREE in May 2020. NetherRealm Studios has unleashed the new “Friendships” trailer spotlighting the popular 90’s feature, showing these silly finishers in action.
The epic new trailer shows off a variety of characters performing these friendly finishers with their otherwise mortal enemies. From Liu Kang disco dancing on a colorful light-up floor, to Sindel toasting with a glass of wine, to even Jax performing a beautiful jazz solo for the audience. There’s so many more Friendships to discover in this free update!
The Friendship update is releasing in conjunction of the new Mortal Kombat 11 digital-first expansion, Aftermath. This free update also includes new Stage Fatalities, as well as the new Dead Pool, Kronika’s Keep, Soul Chamber and RetroKade stages.
The Aftermath Expansion includes a brand new story DLC, 3 skin packs released over time and an additional Johnny Cage “Thanks a Million” Skin and 3 brand new playable characters (RoboCop, Sheeva and Fujin). The expansion is available Mortal Kombat 11 owners to pre-order digitally for $39.99.
New players can also join the arena for the first time with the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Collection . This includes everything from the base game, the previously released Kombat Pack, and all the new content in Aftermath. Players can also get the Kombat Pack + Aftermath Expansion for $49.99 if they already own the base game.
All digital editions are currently available for pre-order, and will include an Eternal Klash Skin pack as a bonus. Physical editions becoming available in June in the Americas only. If players are only interested in the free updates, such as the Friendship finishers, they will certainly have a treat when it is unleashed on May 26th, 2020.
