DC Comics villain, and Batman’s arch-nemesis The Joker has been a fan-favorite comic-book creation since his inception in 1940. While psychotic, chaotic and manipulative, people have always been fascinated with the Clown Prince of Crime. If this new trailer for his inclusion into the Mortal Kombat universe is anything to go by, the craziness should continue when he releases in February (Early Access on January 28th).
NetherRealm released a trailer showcasing their take on the Joker in Mortal Kombat 11, who seems to have a slight nod to Mark Hamill’s iteration, at least voice-wise. From the moment he introduces himself by smearing blood on his lips to create his signature smile, he proves his Kombativeness. While fighting, Joker utilises a cane, spring-loaded boxing gloves, someone in a wheelchair(?), and a Batman doll.
It even appears he makes reference to an Injustice 3 (maybe). Add in a Friendship-turned-Fatality as well as a stabby X-Ray attack, and we have one vicious clown. You can check out the trailer below.
Not enough? NetherRealm has also announced a DC Elseworlds Skin Pack. This pack features characters like Scarecrow and Killer Croc, with Geras receiving a “Time Lord of Apokolips” skin. It can be seen at the end of the trailer and will release with the Joker.
Joker is the 5th DLC character added to Mortal Kombat 11. The previous ones include Nightwolf, Sindel, Shang Tsung and the T-800 Terminator. The final character, already revealed as Todd McFarlane’s Spawn, will release on March 17th, 2020.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia. You can let us know your thoughts over on the Informed Pixel Facebook page or on the Informed Pixel Twitter account. For more gaming news you can keep up to date at Informed Pixel.
