Nintendo is bringing the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition back to retailers on June 29th.
“#NESClassic Edition will return to stores on June 29!” Said Nintendo on Twitter. “This system and the #SNESClassic Edition system are expected to be available through the end of the year.”
The system will continue to ship to retailers until the end of the year, with Nintendo confirming the same for the SNES Classic Edition. This means no one should have any difficulty trying to locate either the NES or SNES Classic Edition at retailers. The NES Classic includes 30 titles from the Nintendo Entertainment System including The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3, Donkey Kong, and more.
The console was high in demand when it launched over the holiday season of 2016, causing a supply shortage. Many consumers were not able to obtain one before the system was discontinued, causing disappointment in Nintendo’s ability to produce enough for demand. Before the SNES Classic was released, Nintendo confirmed that the NES Classic would return to retailers in Summer 2018.
The NES Classic returns to retail on June 29th, 2018.
