Genshin Impact is getting a new character from the beloved Sony franchise by Riding the wave of excitement from its latest expansion. Aloy, the protagonist of Guerilla Games‘ popular Horizon franchise, is joining the growing roster of playable characters for a limited time.
Saviour From Another World
Aloy will be joining the world of Teyvat as a five-star playable character as is featured as part of the new 2.1 update! She brings the skills she has acquired as a member of the Nora Tribe, including her proficiency with her trusty bow. In addition, she will have a new cryo vision and elemental powers exclusive to Genshin Impact!
Players will have access to Aloy free of charge upon reaching adventure rank 20; those on PlayStation platforms will be able to access her even earlier as part of the 2.1 update. Unfortunately, those on other platforms will have access as part of the planned 2.2 updates.
More to come?
With any luck, this ambitious crossover is just the beginning for miHoYo. More details are set to release soon, as there is endless potential for the kinds of crossovers in this expanding universe.
The partnership between Horizon and Genshin Impact will hopefully lay the groundwork for future Sony collaborations. Or perhaps more Horizon Forbidden West content. More details are set to be released about her inclusion soon.
This update is following on from the recent 2.0 update, which has allowed players to explore the region of Inazuma, also adding three new playable characters. It’s clear from these updates that Genshin Impact has a long future of content to follow.
