Iron Man is back, and this time he’s getting a solo game. Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games, Motive Studio announced the upcoming project early Tuesday morning. Lead by Olivier Proulx, who worked on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, this game is already on the right track.
This third-person, action-adventure game is said to pull from Iron Man’s long and storied history. As players take control of Tony Stark, the studio is hoping to channel the complexity of his character to drive a truly unique story. Marvel is reportedly giving Motive vast freedom to create a new story that they can call a love letter to the armored hero. With how loved Tony Stark is due to the MCU, Motive has a daunting task ahead of them.
This new game comes from a studio that developed Star Wars: Squadrons and is trusted with the Dead Space remake. It’s safe to say Motive Studio knows how to play in established worlds while making their own mark. “It’s an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to make a video game based on one of the most iconic Super Heroes in entertainment today,” said Olivier.
Iron Man will be the first of several new games for this studio, so it looks like we are getting a gaming universe as well. Along with the announcement, Motive is also expanding their team with several open positions on their website. If you would like to help Motive create the gaming MCU, now’s your chance.
