Greetings everyone! I’m back to writing after recovering from Covid-19 and able to start writing again! In today’s news, the new JRPG ‘Edge of Eternity, developed by Midgar Studio, has officially gotten a new trailer showcasing its gameplay.
In a realm torn apart by conflict, the people of the kingdom of Heryon wage a brutal war against a never before seen invader. As the conflict set out to destroy the use of magic and technology grows to disastrous and cataclysmic proportions, a whole new threat will emerge from the ashes of war.
The trailer features a Clockwork Field, one of many zones devastated by the mysterious “Corrosion”. On this land, the Kingdom of Heron has been at war for 15 years against space invaders known as Archelites, responsible for the Corrosion by using a biological weapon.
In the game, you play as the main character named Daryon, and his sister Selene. The two of them have set off to find a cure for the effects of the Corrosion to save the life of their mother, who has fallen ill to its effects, and while they’re at it, the rest of the world.
Like most JRPG’s, you can roam freely through the vast world the game has to offer and discover all kinds of treasure in its hidden corners. The world of Heryon is vast and serves as the backdrop where all of the story’s action takes place.
The trailer also goes on to feature the game menu, where you can manage your inventory, see the progression of your team members, and of course, view their equipment. This is also where you will need socket crystals, which you find throughout the world.
Edge of Eternity has a battle system mix of turn-based and ATB gauge tactical combat, much like Final Fantasy. The position of the characters on the Nexus Grid will heavily affect the fight. In this story, you can have up to six characters joining your team.
Edge of Eternity will release in full on PC on June 8th, 2021 via Steam, with a massive launch update that adds 10 hours of additional gameplay and brings the game’s story to an end. The JRPG also comes to PlayStation 4 + PlayStation 5, Xbox One + Series X and Game Pass in Q4 2021.
