Developer Aquria is giving us yet another reason to wish full dive VR technology was a real thing. Ready to delve into “Underworld”? Yeah, you are. The new Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris trailer showcases key features below. Check it out, but be warned. Robots are thinking about stuff now.
Yep, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will feature a new “first-of-its-kind AI system”, dubbed the “Tactical Learning AI System.” This enables your party NPCs to memorise the moves you command them to use in specific situations and then act accordingly in the future. I like the convenience of not having to stop and plug orders to the rest of my team every 4 seconds. I will, however, shout “Judgement day!” every time my video game learns a new trick.
Along with the new combat AI the new multiplayer is also displayed. Party with up to 3 other players to traverse the land of Underworld. You can also show off your anime character creation skills by customising your own avatar. Characters from the show Bercouli, Line, and Fizel also join the cast as possible party members.
Japanese singer ReoNa, who you may (or may not, I don’t know you) recognise as the singer of “forget-me-not” from the second ending theme for Sword Art Online: Alicization has returned. This time she will be singing the main theme.
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris releases on May 22, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
