Toejam & Earl is now targetting a release date for later this Fall.
“We ARE releasing this year!!” Said Greg Johnson, Founder of HumaNature Studios. “Right now we have our sights set on a fall release. We will be making a specific release plan announcement in regards to dates as soon as we have that nailed down.”
Originally released in 1991 for the Sega Genesis, ToeJam & Earl is a game about alien rappers who have crash landed on earth. The new game announced this Fall, titled “Back in the Groove” appears to feature similar gameplay mechanics as with the original Sega Genesis title. The studio released a comical trailer for the release date announcement below.;
The game’s closed beta is expected to launch within the next couple of weeks for those who backed the game prior to development. They also mention that the game is in certification for the Nintendo Switch, meaning we should see a release for all current-generation platforms.
