Wii U Retail Titles
Xenoblade Chronicles X – This game absolutely cleaned house with reviewers. Promising a vast and memorable world, Xenoblade Chronicles X is definitely worth checking out, whether you’re a fan of the original, or only know about the series from Shulk’s Smash Bros. appearance.
Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends – Lengthy title aside, Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends isn’t very unique: it’s a Smash Bros. clone. That might not be a bad thing, as this brawler by developer Little Orbit should serve young fans of Dreamworks’ iconic series very well.
Wii U eShop
Trauma Team – A straight Virtual Console port of the popular Wii title, Trauma Team offers more of what you would expect from Atlus’ beloved Trauma Center series. This time, it’s an oddly Sonic Adventure-style story experience, where you play through many campaigns with different characters, each with unique playstyles, converging in one main story once you complete individual campaigns. It’s available today for the low price of $19.99.
3DS Retail Title
Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends – See the Wii U entry. The two games are more or less the same on the different platforms, so if you’re interested, it’s up to you whether you value graphics or portability more.
3DS eShop
Pokemon Picross – While not Nintendo’s first foray into the picture-based puzzle game world, Pokemon Picross is a free-to-play game that promises to mix it up with Pokemon pictures to complete and unique Pokemon assist powers to help you accomplish that goal. It’s free, so you might as well give it a shot.
Dimentium Remastered – Developer Renegade Kid brings their DS horror game to the 3DS, with a massive graphical boost. While their original game, Dimentium: The Ward looked good on release, it doesn’t hold up graphically nowadays. Luckily, this remaster brings the old gem up to date for only $14.99, including several gameplay changes, such as new difficulties and proper analog controls.
DSiWare
The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde – In 2015, it’s awfully strange to see a DSiWare title release, but nonetheless, this point-and click adventure is here. At its core, it’s mostly reminiscent of an I Spy book, with an occasional dialogue segment thrown in, but if you’re looking for a vaguely Ace Attorney experience on the cheap, this 500-point ($5.00) DSiWare game isn’t the worst buy.
