Storage options shouldn’t be a problem for Nintendo’s next gaming console.
The Nintendo Switch will ship with 32 GB of internal storage, which can become an issue when trying to download games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. With this being said, we don’t know in what way the Nintendo Switch will handle games, and whether or not it will require installation, similar to the way the Xbox One and Playstation 4 operate.
Thankfully, Nintendo will ship the Switch with a storage solution in mind: Expandable memory with Micro SDXC cards. During the Nintendo Switch treehouse event taking place on Friday, Nintendo mentioned that the Switch console would support any Micro-SDXC card available on the market. After clarification with GameInformer, we now know that the Nintendo Switch will support future storage options, ranging up to 2 TB storage options.
“Nintendo Switch is compatible with the SDXC standard, which supports up to 2TB. (Note that 2TB cards are not yet on the market, but the system will support them when they are.)”
With this in mind, higher storage options will increase the price of the Nintendo Switch. At the time of this writing, the Sandisk 128GB Micro-SDXC is retailing for $55.49 CDN on Amazon, with higher capacities retailing for hundreds more.
The Nintendo Switch launches on March 3rd, 2017.

A good thing to note is that the file size for BotW is only 13.4 gb, so a 128gb card will go pretty much as far as PS4’s 500gb in relation to their games.
